The PLEX-ID Respiratory Virus assay is a qualitative, non-diagnostic assay intended for the detection and identification of common respiratory viruses through nucleic acid amplification and subsequent mass spectrometry analysis.
*Magnetic beads and clean-up reagents are included with the T5000 assay but must be purchased separately for use with the PLEX-ID assay.
The PLEX-ID Respiratory Virus assay kit consists of:
- 10 Plates (60 Assays)
- Plate Processing Protocol
- RT-PCR Enzyme Dilution Buffer
- RNA Dilution Buffer
- Abbott Amplitaq Gold
- Superscript® III Reverse Transcriptase
- T4 Gene 32 Protein
Positive, negative, or extraction controls are not provided.
The PLEX-ID Respiratory Virus assay uses sixteen primer pairs in sixteen wells to detect and identify:
- Adenovirus species A-F
- Coronavirus species
- Human metapneumovirus (hMPV)
- Influenza A virus and Influenza B virus
- Parainfluenza virus (PIV) 1-3
- Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV)
This assay is designed to identify 73 species and greater than 9,000 strains of the targeted viruses. Please note that some viruses may be reported as a cluster of indistinguishable organisms.
